The Province of BC continues to invest and fund event hosting through the Hosting BC grant program to facilitate economic and community development brought forth through notable sporting events.
Eligible applicants are invited to apply for Hosting BC funding of up to $20,000 depending on event category (see full program guidelines on Appendix 2, for eligibility).
Who can apply?
Applications may be submitted for the International, National, Multi-Jurisdictional, Provincial and Regional events by a not-for-profit organization that is operating as a:
- National Sport Organization (NSO)
- viaSport Designated Sport Organization
- Local Sport Organization (LSO) that is affiliated and in good standing with a viaSport Designated Sport Organization
- Recognized BC University or College
Applications may be submitted for the Invitational events by a not-for-profit organization that is operating as a:
- Indigenous community association
- Non-Designated Sport Organization supported by a Provincial or National Sport Organization
The Hosting BC grant accepts applications three times per year, with eligible event dates shifting accordingly for each intake. As such, eligible events may have multiple opportunities to apply. However, once funding is granted, an event is not eligible for further funding.
